Earlybird Overview

A modular cross-chain messaging protocol with a focus on trust minimization and gas efficiency
Earlybird provides a lightweight endpoint and a variety of interoperability libraries with different tradeoffs between usability (i.e., gas efficiency, speed, extensibility) and security (i.e., trust minimization, economic security, implementation security).
Earlybird also provides deep configurability and best-in-class speed for message-passing, compared to existing cross-chain providers.
We will be releasing many more blog posts and deep dives on the value, philosophy, and implementation details of our protoocol in the Explanationsection, so stay connected by joining our Discord and following Orb Labs on Twitter! Your journey to Earlybird adoption depends on your needs.

Currently available libraries:
  • Thunderbird -- Prioritizes gas efficiency and speed
  • Rukh -- Prioritizes security and introduces message disputing
  • Caladrius (Soon) -- Comparatively cheap light clients optimized for trust minimization
  • Griffin (Soon) -- Versatile library that combines the first three libraries
Earlybird is live currently on TESTNET ONLY, on the following networks:
  • Ethereum Goerli
  • Optimism Goerli
  • Arbitrum Goerli
  • Binance Testnet
  • opBNB Testnet
  • Polygon Mumbai
If you are looking for Earlybird on any other testnet, let us know!
The Earlybird Protocol is undergoing multiple audits to prove confidence and looks forward to launching soon on Mainnet.
